PRESS RELEASE – Town of Cape Charles, Virginia

Mr. Brent T. Manuel of Woodstock, Virginia, has been appointed Town Manager for the Town of Cape Charles, effective April 6, 2015. Mr. Manuel has over sixteen years of experience in local government, having previously served the town of Purcellville, the county of Frederick, the town of Strasburg, and most recently the town of Woodstock, all within the Commonwealth of Virginia. For the past thirteen years, Mr. Manuel has served as the Assistant Town Manager of Operations for the town of Woodstock, while also serving as the director of the Department of Planning and Community Development. Mr. Manuel states that, “while I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in the Northern Shenandoah Valley, I am very enthusiastic about the opportunity that awaits in the beautiful town of Cape Charles.”
Mr. Manuel earned his Bachelor of Science in Urban Studies and Planning from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1997, and a Graduate Certificate in Public Administration from Shenandoah University.
Mayor George Proto stated, “The town council and I look forward to his beginning his tenure and to the contributions I believe he will make to our town.”
