PUBLIC SAFETY INFORMATION

Sea OttersChief David Eder reported that the Cape Charles Police Department received an emergency call from a visiting family that sighted "strange animals" around the Harbor area yesterday afternoon. The "strange animals" in question were later identified to be a Sea Otter Family. Chief Eder cautioned the public that these Sea Otters have been in the Harbor area and the Bay Creek Marina area from time to time and they are NOT domesticated pets so please keep your distance from them; especially if they have young pups in tow.
